Timeline: March 2023 – September 2024
Impact: Streamlined the process of booking private wellness spaces, leading to a 40% increase in user engagement within the first three months
The challenge
Traditional wellness facilities often lack flexibility and privacy, deterring individuals seeking personalised wellness experiences. The challenge was to design an app that allows users to effortlessly discover and book private wellness spaces on-demand, catering to activities such as fitness, meditation, and relaxation.
Research & insights
User Interviews: Conducted interviews with potential users to understand their preferences and pain points regarding wellness space bookings.
Competitive Analysis: Analysed existing wellness and fitness booking platforms to identify gaps in privacy and flexibility.
Key Findings:
Users desired greater control over their wellness environment.
There was a significant demand for on-demand, private spaces without long-term commitments.
Existing platforms lacked real-time availability and seamless booking experiences.
Design process
Ideation & Sketching: Brainstormed concepts focusing on user autonomy and convenience. Utilised Miro for collaborative ideation sessions and initial sketches.
Wireframes & Prototyping: Developed wireframes in Figma, emphasising intuitive navigation and real-time availability features. Created interactive prototypes using Framer to simulate user interactions.
User Testing & Iteration: Conducted usability tests with target users to gather feedback on the booking flow and overall user experience. Documented insights in Notion and iterated on the design to enhance clarity and ease of use.
The solution
The final design introduced an app that enables users to:
Discover Wellness Spaces: Browse a network of premium micro-gyms and therapy spaces available for hourly bookings.
Real-Time Booking: View real-time availability and book spaces instantly through the app.
Flexible Usage: Book sessions solo, with friends, or to train and treat clients, providing versatility to suit various wellness activities.
Integrated Payments: Securely handle payments within the app, streamlining the booking process.
The outcome
User Adoption: Achieved a 40% increase in user engagement within the first six months post-launch.
Positive Feedback: Users praised the app for its ease of use, flexibility, and the quality of available spaces.
Market Expansion: The success in initial markets paved the way for expansion into additional cities, broadening the user base.
